Twin Peaks meets Room at the Top LOGLINE Elizabetha is set in the fictional towns of Lampton and Lampton Borough in the Midlands in late 1962. The story focuses on the exploits of working-class ne’er-do-well and lothario Joe Eccles, 27, as he attempts to gain access to the wealth of the local Marchbank manufacturing empire by marrying heiress Nancy. But as the vicious winter, now known as the Big Freeze, sets in, something strange – very strange – is happening in the twin towns… THEME As the UK navigates moves from post-WWII austerity and into the early Cold War period, something sinister is approaching. It's not the Commies but what they're fighting: consumerism. The question is... which will win out? |
